Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of MealWisp (the "app", "service"), operated by Salman Ahmed ("we", "us"). By creating an account, you agree to them.

The service

MealWisp turns a recipe video, link or photo you submit, or a dish you ask it to invent, into a structured recipe you can save, rate, organize into collections, plan meals with, and (where available) shop for via a grocery partner. Some features are extracted automatically (speech, video, and AI-based recipe recognition) and may occasionally be wrong — always use your own judgment on ingredients, quantities, and anything relevant to allergies or health conditions.

The meal assistant is an AI system, not a person. The AI Chat tab is a conversation with an AI model: it asks about your goals, proposes meals and can suggest changes to a recipe. It proposes only — nothing is saved or changed until you tap to accept it. Content a model wrote is labelled as such in the app, and our Privacy Policy explains where AI is used and what happens to what you send it.

Your account

You must provide accurate signup information and are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use MealWisp.

Your content

You keep ownership of any content you submit (links, videos, notes). You grant us a license to store and process it solely to provide the service — extracting, displaying, and syncing your recipes back to you. You're responsible for having the right to submit any video or link you send us; don't submit content you don't have rights to.

We may use aggregated, de-identified data (not tied to you) to improve extraction quality.

Subscriptions and billing

MealWisp offers Free, Plus, and Pro tiers with different usage limits. Paid tiers are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never process your payment card directly, and all billing, renewal, refund, and cancellation mechanics are handled by the platform you subscribed through, subject to their terms. Refund requests go to Apple or Google, not to us. Manage or cancel your subscription from your device's subscription settings.

Acceptable use

Don't: use the app to violate the rights of others (including the platform you sourced a video from); attempt to abuse, scrape, or overload the service; reverse-engineer the app; or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Account deletion

You can delete your account in-app at any time. Deletion enters a 30-day grace period during which signing back in cancels it; afterward it's permanent. See our Privacy Policy for what that removes.

Third-party services

The app relies on third-party services (sign-in, AI models, storage, billing, hosting, push notifications, and — where enabled — a grocery partner) to work. We aren't responsible for outages or errors originating in those services, though we'll work to route around them where practical.

Disclaimers

MealWisp is provided "as is." Recipe extraction, nutrition estimates, and AI recommendations are best-effort and may contain errors — they are not professional dietary, medical, or nutritional advice. We don't warrant the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Salman Ahmed is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or USD 100 if you are on the Free tier.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you use MealWisp as a consumer somewhere else, this does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, or your right to bring a claim there.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here and, where significant, notified in-app. Continued use after a change means you accept the update.
