How to turn an Instagram reel into a recipe

Share the reel to MealWisp from Instagram's share sheet, or paste its link into the app. MealWisp transcribes the audio, reads the text on screen and writes out the recipe with ingredients, steps and timings. It usually takes under a minute, and the app sends a push when the recipe is ready.

Photo posts work the same way, from their pictures, and so do public videos from TikTok, Facebook and YouTube.

The steps

  1. 1Open the reel in Instagram and tap Share.
  2. 2Choose MealWisp from the share sheet, or copy the link and paste it into Import Recipe.
  3. 3Leave the screen if you like. The app sends a push when the recipe is ready.
  4. 4Check the recipe. Every line is editable, and the source and the AI-assisted label are shown on it.
  5. 5Save it to your library, drop it onto the calendar or send its ingredients to your shopping list.
