How to get the ingredients from a TikTok cooking video

Share the TikTok to MealWisp. The quantities are usually spoken aloud or flashed on screen rather than written in the caption, so MealWisp transcribes the audio and samples frames to catch on-screen text, then writes one ingredient list with amounts. Send it to your shopping list, grouped by aisle.

Saved recipes are cached on your phone, so the ingredients and steps are there even with no signal. Importing a new video needs a connection.

The steps

  1. 1In TikTok, tap Share and choose MealWisp, or copy the link and paste it into Import Recipe.
  2. 2Watch the recipe build while it is being extracted, or leave and wait for the push.
  3. 3Read the ingredient list and fix any amount that looks off. Every edit is versioned.
  4. 4Send the ingredients to your shopping list. Each line says which recipe needs it.
  5. 5Cook from the step-by-step view, or have the recipe read aloud, hands-free.
